SUMNER POLICE DEPARTMENT CITIZENS ACADEMY
Did you ever want to drive a patrol car? Or try weapons practice? Or find a suspect? Here’s your chance! I t’s free and a great way for you to learn about your police department and what it means first-hand to be in law enforcement.
The 2012 Citizen's Academy is currently full. We'll still accept applications to place your name on a wait-list.
WHAT IS A CITIZEN’S ACADEMY? It is a classroom-based course that includes hands on learning and two field trips. We want to help you better understand what your Police Department does.
WHEN IS THE ACADEMY? We're taking applications now for the 2012 Academy, to be held Tuesdays at 6 pm from February 28 through April 24. (These dates did change since the printing of the Community Connection newsletter. We apologize for any confusion.)
ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS? Applicants must be 18 years of age or a high school senior, live and/or work in the City of Sumner, have no felony convictions or outstanding warrants. All applicants are subject to a background check. There is no fee to attend the Citizen’s Academy. Class notebooks and identification badges will be provided.
