SUMNER POLICE DEPARTMENT CHIEF'S MESSAGE
If you live, work or visit Sumner, you are a member of our police department. The founder of modern-day policing said that the police are the public and the public are the police. It couldn't be more true today.
Our police department is committed to following this heritage. Although we react and respond to crime, we're also about being proactive and working with you before something happens.
Sumner is a great place to be a police officer because we get to work with you. You still call us when something "just doesn't feel right." Please keep this up. Get to know your police department, ask us questions, form neighborhood watches, and maybe even consider working with us on a volunteer basis. Together, we'll not only fight crime, but also fight the fear of potential crime, to keep Sumner a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
