If you like history, gardening, or recreation, there's a "Day" in Sumner for you. Here are a few suggested "days" that could fit your interests.
1. Download or pick up a copy of the Walking Tour of Historical Sites 2. Visit Loyalty Park, Sumner's oldest park 3. Visit Heritage Park and find the references to Sumner's past buildings 4. Explore the Sumner Historical Society's museum in the beautiful Ryan House. 5. Shop for antique treasures on Main Street. 6. Search for your own past at Heritage Quest Research, a local non-profit dedicated to genealogy.
1. Visit Windmill Gardens on East Main Street for plants and gifts. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at the Windmill Bistro. 2. Visit the Van Lierop Bulb Farm in the Puyallup Valley. 3. Come to downtown Sumner and walk around the residential streets near Main Street. There are many beautiful private gardens visible from the sidewalk, especially on Sumner Avenue and and Ryan Avenue. 4. Shop historic downtown Sumner for new garden and floral gifts, especially VanLierop Garden Market on Ryan Avenue.
1. Stop by McLendon's Hardware for tools, auto supplies and more. 2. If you need a bike or need your bike checked, stop by the Bonney Lake Bicycle Shop of Sumner. 3. Stock up on carbs at one of Sumner's many restaurants and bakeries. In most places, you can dine in or take it to go. 4. Enjoy one of Sumner's trails by hiking, biking, or even fishing. 5. Spend the day golfing outdoors at Sumner Meadows.

included) 1. Start at the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse and enjoy the trains overhead and other surprises throughout the store! 2. Visit the Sumner Woodworker's Store for tools and accessories, wood and how-to books. 3. Stop in at Sumner Animal Grub, where folks still gather around the pot-bellied stove. 4. When the season's right, grab a fishing pole and try your luck in the White River or Puyallup River. The paved, fully accessible trail by the Wastewater Treatment Plant brings you right to the confluence of the two rivers. 5. Have a good, hearty meal at one of Sumner's many restaurants and bakeries. Try the old-fashioned atmospheres of the Berryland Cafe or Dixie's or Sabrina's Lunch in a Box. Watch trains go by from Midtown Station, or load up on the smoky flavor of Branks Barbeque. 5. Check out everything John Deere at Washington Tractor.

There's more than just tractors at Sumner Tractor -- find unique gifts and treasures.

While downtown, the kids may want to find some new toys or books in one of the many specialty shops. 3. Stop at the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse and enjoy the trains zooming around overhead. 4. Have lunch at one of Sumner's many restaurants and bakeries. The kid favorite--pizza--is available at Aversano's, Sorci's or Farelli's. (All favorites of adults too!) 5. Work off lunch at one of Sumner's many parks. Options include playground equipment, grass for running, basketball courts and more!
